A bad night’s sleep can cause your eyes to look swollen when you wake up in the morning. That’s the case when you’re stressed. Stress causes changes to the salt balance in the body and if there is an non-balance of salt, your eyes can retain water and cause it to swell.
When you cry, the tears are less salty than normal tears. Hence, the differences in salt concentration between these tears and surrounding tissues causing swelling of the eyelid.
If there is a sudden attack of allergy on your body, it releases histamine into your system which can sometimes lead to inflammation around the eye.
Eyes are vulnerable to even small changes in your diet. Excessive drinking can cause your body to dehydrate, the same goes for your eyes which can lead to puffiness around the eye.
Drink More Water
When your body dehydrated after a hangover, it tries to retain water. Drinking 8-10 glasses of water a day can also help flush toxins out and to clear up your eye.
The enzymes found in cucumbers help reduce inflammation and tighten the skin around the eyes. Just cut into slices and place it on your eyes for 15 minutes.
